On le retrouve dans une gamme extraordinairement vari\u00e9e de produits et de technologies que nous voyons et utilisons tous les jours, notamment la peinture, le plastique, les cosm\u00e9tiques, les \u00e9crans solaires, le verre et m\u00eame les convertisseurs catalytiques. Ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s vari\u00e9es lui permettent de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 de nombreux besoins, par exemple comme colorant blanc vibrant, pour prot\u00e9ger des rayons UV et pour r\u00e9duire la pollution.<\/p>\n<p>On l\u2019utilise en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 depuis une centaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es dans un nombre stup\u00e9fiant de produits. Cette pr\u00e9occupation est notamment li\u00e9e \u00e0 son utilisation dans l\u2019industrie alimentaire et cosm\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n<p>Issu de l\u2019un des \u00e9l\u00e9ments les plus courants sur terre, le dioxyde de titane (TiO<sub>2<\/sub>) a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9 par un grand nombre d\u2019organismes de r\u00e9glementation comme \u00e9tant un agent inerte et s\u00fbr.<\/p>\n<p>Sa couleur blanche \u00e9clatante en fait une substance id\u00e9ale pour de nombreuses utilisations. Cet arr\u00eat \u00e9tait li\u00e9 \u00e0 la classification par l\u2019UE, le 18 f\u00e9vrier 2020, du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0sous forme de poudre comme canc\u00e9rog\u00e8ne pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 (cat\u00e9gorie 2) par inhalation.<\/p>\n<p>Les principales raisons de l\u2019annulation \u00e9taient qu\u2019une erreur avait \u00e9t\u00e9 commise dans l\u2019\u00e9valuation de la fiabilit\u00e9 et de l\u2019acceptabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9tude sur laquelle la classification \u00e9tait bas\u00e9e, et qu\u2019une classification ne peut s\u2019appliquer qu\u2019\u00e0 une substance qui a la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intrins\u00e8que de causer le cancer.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][difl_divider separetor_type=\u00a0\u00bbno\u00a0\u00bb divider_line_color=\u00a0\u00bb#000000&Prime; divider_line_width=\u00a0\u00bb1px\u00a0\u00bb _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb][\/difl_divider][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb header_3_font=\u00a0\u00bbNoto Sans|600|||||||\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>La production de TiO<sub>2 <\/sub>est-elle s\u00fbre ?<\/h3>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00a0\u00bb0&Prime; global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00a0\u00bb0&Prime;]<\/p>\n<p>Dans la nature, le titane est souvent associ\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u2019autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments communs tels que le fer. Deux m\u00e9thodes sont utilis\u00e9es pour s\u00e9parer ces substances et former du TiO<sub>2<\/sub> pur :<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdma.info\/about-tio2\/what-is-titanium-dioxide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdma.info\/fr\/a-propos-du-tio2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 au sulfate et un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 au chlorure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de production similaires sont utilis\u00e9s pour fabriquer des m\u00e9taux en titane pour l\u2019a\u00e9rospatiale, la m\u00e9decine, la construction navale et l\u2019industrie du b\u00e2timent. Comme tous les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s chimiques, ils sont soumis \u00e0 des lois environnementales strictes et les deux m\u00e9thodes de production du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0utilisent et respectent des normes strictes en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9, de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de manipulation.<\/p>\n<p>La fabrication du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0est optimis\u00e9e pour recycler ou r\u00e9utiliser les mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res. Elle impose aux industries d\u2019\u00e9valuer les dangers et de g\u00e9rer les risques potentiels li\u00e9s \u00e0 ces substances.<\/p>\n<p>Lors de l\u2019enregistrement du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0dans le cadre de REACH, l\u2019industrie a rassembl\u00e9 et \u00e9valu\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es scientifiques disponibles sur le TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0et a d\u00e9termin\u00e9 qu\u2019il n\u2019y avait pas de preuve de danger selon les crit\u00e8res d\u2019\u00e9valuation de REACH.<\/p>\n<p>La production de TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0est soigneusement g\u00e9r\u00e9e par l\u2019industrie. Les producteurs prennent toutes les mesures n\u00e9cessaires pour se conformer aux lois et r\u00e9glementations de l\u2019UE et des \u00c9tats membres concernant la manipulation en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s dans la fabrication du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, le TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0est disponible dans le commerce depuis une centaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Au cours de cette p\u00e9riode, des \u00e9tudes approfondies sur les travailleurs de l\u2019industrie de fabrication du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0n\u2019ont trouv\u00e9\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/3230444\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">aucune preuve d\u2019un risque accru de cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Quatre grandes \u00e9tudes \u00e9pid\u00e9miologiques men\u00e9es en Am\u00e9rique du Nord et en Europe, impliquant plus de 24 000 travailleurs de l\u2019industrie de fabrication du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>, n\u2019ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 aucune augmentation du risque de cancer ou d\u2019autres effets n\u00e9fastes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019exposition au TiO<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][difl_divider separetor_type=\u00a0\u00bbno\u00a0\u00bb divider_line_color=\u00a0\u00bb#000000&Prime; divider_line_width=\u00a0\u00bb1px\u00a0\u00bb _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb locked=\u00a0\u00bboff\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb][\/difl_divider][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb header_3_font=\u00a0\u00bbNoto Sans|600|||||||\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>Le TiO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0est-il sans danger dans les aliments?<\/h3>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00a0\u00bb0&Prime; global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00a0\u00bb0&Prime;]<\/p>\n<p>Le dioxyde de titane est utilis\u00e9 dans l\u2019alimentation sous la forme du colorant E171. Depuis des d\u00e9cennies d\u2019utilisation comme colorant alimentaire, aucun lien v\u00e9rifiable n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 entre la consommation g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de E171 et les effets n\u00e9fastes sur la sant\u00e9 humaine. Toutefois, la Commission europ\u00e9enne a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=uriserv%3AOJ.L_.2022.011.01.0001.01.ENG&amp;toc=OJ%3AL%3A2022%3A011%3ATOC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retir\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0l\u2019autorisation d\u2019utiliser le E171 dans les aliments dans l\u2019UE le 18 janvier 2022.
