Mais pas que, puisqu\u2019il entrera \u00e9galement dans la composition de fen\u00eatres et autres surfaces autonettoyantes.<\/h3>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame si cela para\u00eet relever de la science-fiction, l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un mat\u00e9riau autonettoyant n\u2019est pas nouvelle. Des rev\u00eatements hydrophobes (imperm\u00e9ables \u00e0 l\u2019eau) aux substances qui repoussent les mol\u00e9cules huileuses, de nombreuses m\u00e9thodes permettent de produire des mat\u00e9riaux autonettoyants. Des rev\u00eatements en dioxyde de titane pourraient aussi \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s sur des meubles de jardin qui, \u00e0 force de rester dehors l\u2019hiver, deviennent vite sales ; le simple retour des beaux jours permettrait alors de les nettoyer, selon les chercheurs de Fraunhofer. <\/p>\n<p>Mais que se passe-t-il quand le soleil n\u2019est pas au rendez-vous ? De nombreuses \u00e9tudes sugg\u00e8rent que l\u2019ajout d\u2019autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments pourrait accro\u00eetre l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des nanoparticules. <\/p>\n<p>\u00abEn quelques d\u00e9cennies, nous avons assist\u00e9 \u00e0 des progr\u00e8s scientifiques impressionnants qui ont permis d\u2019augmenter les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s d\u2019absorption de la lumi\u00e8re visible par le TiO<sub>2<\/sub>. En dopant diff\u00e9rents \u00e9l\u00e9ments chimiques, tels l\u2019azote, le soufre et la fluorine, nous sommes parvenus \u00e0 accro\u00eetre l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des mat\u00e9riaux lorsque le ciel est voil\u00e9\u00bb, explique Mallikarjuna Nadagouda, chercheur \u00e0 l\u2019Agence am\u00e9ricaine de protection de l\u2019environnement.<\/p>\n<p>M. Nadagouda et ses coll\u00e8gues ont publi\u00e9 un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2211339815000799\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> dans lequel ils passent en revue les publications traitant du TiO<sub>2<\/sub>. Nadagouda estime qu\u2019elles doivent \u00eatre perfectionn\u00e9es avant que leur application puisse \u00eatre \u00e9largie. Il faut notamment s\u2019employer \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir l\u2019\u00e9mission de TiO<sub>2<\/sub> des surfaces et mat\u00e9riaux qui en contiennent et apprendre \u00e0 mieux ma\u00eetriser ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s autonettoyantes uniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLe consensus est qu\u2019une fois ces probl\u00e9matiques r\u00e9solues, les champs d\u2019application du TiO<sub>2<\/sub> seront \u00e9largis de fa\u00e7on concr\u00e8te \u00e0 de nombreux secteurs\u00bb, conclut M.
