Harde wind en zout water kunnen een moeilijke omgeving vormen voor de stalen turbines. Als pigment betekent de hoge brekingsindex dat het zichtbaar licht kan verstrooien. Dit resulteert in een ondoorzichtige kleur en cre\u00ebert een heldere, reflecterende kwaliteit die de turbine beschermt tegen UV-degradatie.<\/p>\n<p>TiO<sub>2<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/sub>is ook een uitstekende fotokatalysator en breekt schadelijke luchtverontreinigende stoffen af zoals ze in contact komen met de turbinemasten, waardoor ze een milieuvriendelijk, zelfreinigend vermogen hebben,
