Good practices for handling and monitoring dust in the workplace
The titanium dioxide (TiO2) industry has always been committed to the safety of its employees and end-users. Manufacturers ensure the safe and secure handling of TiO2 in the workplace and have developed best practices, these include inter alia:
- Undertaking regular risk assessments to identify processes and tasks that could generate dust;
- Taking measures to prevent the release of dust or where that’s not possible, by using local exhaust ventilation;
- Equipping employees with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);
- And frequent cleaning and maintenance of equipment in work environments.
